Asteroid Mining is No Danger to Satellites or Earth

Full speed ahead for asteroid mining.

New Scientist recently published an article stating that asteroids transported to retrograde lunar orbit to be mined would shed material that could damage communication satellites orbiting Earth. This is misleading because no asteroid miner would ever spend the fuel to transport an asteroid anywhere. All mining will take place in the asteroids native orbit and only highly refined product, whether metal or water, would be returned to the vicinity of Earth.
