I suspect from your login name that you are active in promoting science in schools. Science is indeed necessary and often underemphasized. However, we must not forget that it is the application of science that has a beneficial effect on our lives. Often this comes in the form of engineering. Anything that you can do to promote the teaching of engineering, both in your local area and in the wider world, will be helpful. There is no telling what can be accomplished tomorrow by the young people you influence today.

I certainly don’t disagree with someone who realizes we are designed. And don’t get me wrong, I love the thought of flying off Earth–I am old enough to remember and love both the original Flash Gordon and the Golden Age of science fiction (Robert Heinlein and E.E. Doc Smith…), and I deeply appreciate the knowledge that has been gained off-Earth, such as the unprecedented telescopic views we are seeing of structures in deep space (which institutional scientists, working within the paradigm, pretend to explain from current theory, but clearly don’t come close). If you look at my lulu.com site, however, you will find that you don’t have to go beyond the Earth to push the envelope — because you will find the design of things is deeper and broader than is dreamt of in …etc. I have found science — particularly earth and life science — has blundered badly, and today largely refuses to “push the envelope” in the direction of correction (although there are alternative, isolated voices on the internet, such as mantleplumes.org — but they don’t interact with me, or one another, as far as I have yet observed). As a physicist, I would say the same about physics. Things are not well, precisely because…well, remember that old saying, “those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it”? Well, it has never been truer, as I show in my work; and it has a corollary today: Those who cannot acknowledge the design behind the natural world are doomed to be driven by it, inevitably into misdirection and dogmatic, unsupported belief. As a physicist, looking at current hypertrophied conceptions such as the Big Bang, wave-particle duality, a universe full of “ultimate” black holes and 99% “dark matter” making up the universe, I find myself driven, to repeat that last sentence: …misdirection and unsupported belief. Design is the hard reality, just like the coffee table that dents your shin if you try to walk through it in the dark.

In my experience, the people who are interested in space exploration do not lack an appreciation for what we have on Earth. They are driven by the same imperative that caused the earliest humans to leave the comfort of Africa and move to the harsh climates of Northern Europe, Asia, Australia, and eventually America. It is in our nature to push the envelope. That is the way we are designed.

I have a Access problem…I don’t know enough to get around a problem. A friend and I started a web site called FarmerInTheDell.org We modeled it after a very successful Access based web site called PortlandDancing.com. I need to talk to someone like yourself who knows how to make the data we have work on a server.
